Air quality, lighting and many other things can actually play crucial roles. Here we’ll tell you why.
Find correct lighting
Light has a very big impact on both the mood and work performance. From the perspective of interior design, correct lighting sets the mood and ambiance in a room as well as enhances its aesthetic appeal. Light helps run some of the important processes in the human body, such as our appetite and sleep cycle. It helps us stay focused and alert during hard days. Most workplaces rely on electrical lighting throughout the day but it is important to try and incorporate as much natural light as possible. Natural light more specifically is important for our mental health and general wellbeing as it keeps our natural rhythms under control. Today, there are LED light sources made to replicate natural light which is a good alternative if there’s lack of daylight.
Invest in good snacks
To avoid having your energy levels crashing down in the afternoon a bit of a snack is vital during long office hours. To be your best, productive self a snack is necessary to stay energized in between meals. Grab a granola bar, a fruit or perhaps a handful of nuts! If you crave a bigger snack, make yourself an avocado toast or cut up an apple and dip the slices in peanut butter. Make sure to take this moment off and allow yourself to breathe. A big glass of water, coffee or tea will help give a feeling of relaxation and the focus needed to tackle the next task.
Use ergonomic furniture
Working at a computer for longer amounts of time can be harmful to your health. Improvements in workplace ergonomics will remove risk factors that might lead to injuries. It will also allow an improved human performance. Use a comfortable chair while working and always keep the computer and desk at a suitable height. Injuries in elbows and back pain can be a result of working at a desk too low. Make sure to take breaks to fully allow yourself to stretch and walk around once in a while.
