The following text was written by Crowd1's very own business philosopher Peter Jakobsson.
We can all agree on the importance of having goals and knowing where we are heading, in life and in our business. If we don't know where we are going we can ask ourselves; where are we going? The answer to that is, probably nowhere. And this is the reason why most people don't succeed because they don't understand the power behind setting goals. With clear, written goals and a deadline, you are more likely to achieve them.
Our mind is a powerful tool, and depending on how we use it, it can be our best friend or worst enemy. Most people let others take control of their thoughts, or perhaps they take part in useless information that won't help them get any closer to reaching their goals. This is the reason why it's so important to let your mind dwell only on the important things, like your goals. Take charge of your own life and don't let anyone else except for yourself program your mind.
To those who haven't set any goals or planned before it might seem new and confusing. How do you get started? Let's keep it stupid simple because it is. Take your wildest dreams, write them down, set a deadline and just like that you have created goals!
Divide your dreams into three categories, financial, material and social. Make three columns for each category and then start writing down whatever dream you have that falls under each category. Anything that comes to mind that you would like to have or do. Don't be afraid of dreaming too big; it doesn't cost more than to dream too small! When all of your columns are filled up, put number 1 by the thing you want more than anything else and two by the thing you want the second most and so on. After that, put deadlines to your goals and find pictures related to the goals. When you are done with these steps, it's time to get to work.
By looking at pictures related to your goals every day, your mind will recognise them, and by connecting emotions to it, your subconscious will take on the goals. The subconscious will start processing them and figure out a way for you to get them. This, in combination with a real action plan, will help you reach your goals.
Remember that if you have not created a plan for your own life, you will only be put in somebody else's plan. Like the old saying, "if you are failing to plan, you are planning to fail".
If you create your own plan, the best of your life will be the rest of your life, because you are not who you think you are. You are who you THINK you are.
