What is your background like?
I have my Masters Degree in Nuclear Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT, and I have been a professional poker player since 2004.
How did you get to where you are now?
Hard work. ”No retreat, no surrender.” Learning from my peers that are better and stronger than me and who are at a place where I want to be. Having a HUGE goal and a plan to reach them.
I had a huge ”why” I have to succeed. My big goal was always to take care of my mother. It always was my only goal, but it was so huge for me that failure was not an option. Taking care of my mother has always been my biggest goal ever since I was a young boy.
What have been the biggest challenges?
Learning how to fail over and over again. Losing everything many times. Starting over. Listening to negative people. Trying to help people close to you who you wish to succeed instead of working with the people who earn your time and commitment. I’m learning from my mistakes all the time.
If you could coach your younger self, what would you tell them?
Have more fun along the way. For almost 10 years at university I was studying so hard I did not allow myself a lot of time for fun.
Do you have a hidden talent?
You are inviting one of our members over for dinner. What are you serving?
Oysters and sashimi as a starter, Ribeye Steak or Kobe beef for main dish and for dessert, salty licorice and sour raspberry panna cotta. #carnivorediet
