Spotlight: Mazeka Wilfred Bheki

Every month, leaders are stepping up and working harder than ever to educate, grow their business, and most of all, inspire. It is because of people like them, that Crowd1 has become what it is today. This is a chance to get to know the people behind the success.

What is your background?

I am from Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal. Originally from Emavundleni location, Gezubuso where I was raised by a single mother and my grandparents. My mother was working as a domestic lady at a holiday resort. I grew up looking after the cows for my grandfather and I learnt a lot of leadership skills through this experience.

If you could coach your younger-self, what would you tell them?

Firstly, learn to position yourself and don't go to school for wrong reasons but for exploring yourself to be coachable and knowledgeable and be willing to learn new things every day. Focus and have a good student mentality because without Focus you will always miss your destiny.

"I wanted to be a lawyer. Thank God I didn't make it because I was going to be a broke lawyer."

What is the best gift you have given someone?

Crowd1 opportunity because it is so impressive to someone from having nothing on the table to see him living a better life and taking care of his family.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a lawyer. Thanks to God I didn’t make it because I was going to be a broke lawyer.

What is the best advice you have received?

Don't work for money, let money work for you. As well as help people to get what they want because automatically you will get what you want.

What do you work towards in your free time?

Building my legacy because when I leave this world, I want to leave a mark for my family.

Who inspires you?

Mr Smile and Mr Moffat Ndlovu.

What has been going through your mind lately?

Watching the world changing to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Our people are 10 years behind what is going on into the World.
