Spotlight: Rasky Espineli Rasco

Every month, leaders are stepping up and working harder than ever to educate, grow their business, and most of all, inspire. It is because of people like them, that Crowd1 has become what it is today. This is a chance to get to know the people behind the success. ‍

Tell us a little about your background.

My family has lived in the Middle East since 1998.I am married to my wife, Laura Lazaro-Rasco, and we have two sons Jose and & Juan. My background has been in the telecom’s industry. I have been in this industry for the past 26 years. I have also been a Pastor for 12 years. My career took me to most parts of Europe, North America, North Africa,Middle, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the rest ofSoutheast Asia.

How did you get to where you are now?

In November 2019, Miss Jeanette Benedicto Torres, surprised our church community, Fellowship of the Nations, a Pentecostal church in the United Arab Emirates, by inviting all the leaders (about 24 of us Pastor’s, Pastors’ wives, and leaders) to a scrumptious dinner in one of the best restaurants here in Dubai. What astounded us is that we knew Miss Torres left about 2 years earlier, nearly destitute. The inspiring story of Miss Torres moved me to emulate what she has achieved and has brought me to where I am now in one of the leadership positions of Crowd1 in the GCC.

If you could coach your younger self, what would you tell them?
Take more calculated risks! Be bolder and do not be afraid to make mistakes. You are either up or getting up. You are never down! Continue to understand and know that the opposite of love isnot hate but indifference. Be the history makerand effect the change that you are meant to do.

What is the best gift you have given someone?
As a Biblical counsellor, learning how I was able to be a small instrument in changing a person’s life and rebuilding their willingness to restore their love for life and themselves. This is both a gift I received, and I’ve given away!

What is the best advice you have received?

Do not give up!! There are two kinds of people in this world walking the same road, encountering the same boulder or obstacle. The first one
sees the boulder as a stumbling block, the other sees the same boulder as a stepping stone. Choose the latter.

What has been going through your mind lately?
What preoccupies my mind right now is the endeavours we can embark on with the new wealth we are gaining from Crowd1. Crowd1 is a means to a greater end. I haven’t traded in the stock market, currency, commodities and cryptocurrency like ever before. We have to multiply what God has bestowed upon us. These seeds must be planted on fertile soil.
