What is your background like?
I had a lovely childhood, but not without struggles. I was born in the small town Ladysmith and was the 11th out of 12 children. Growing up, my mother and father shared a room, and the children shared the other. We used to push the dining room table to the side at night, put down mattresses, and all sleep together in the dining room. My aunt passed away, and my parents also looked after my two cousins. Although it was a very full house, it was a house of love.
What have been the biggest challenges?
I would say approaching people with something they don’t know. Starting out, it is like being in a forest with no path. People have lost a lot through other ventures, and I tell them that I lost a lot too. But show me one millionaire that has not lost. You must keep trying. It is challenging to get people to feel what I feel, but I do not quit.
Who inspires you?
Honestly, I inspire myself. I was a quiet child always in the corner. No one thought I could do what I have done. I had to inspire myself and believe in myself. I built myself up, and now I am proudly also inspiring my two daughters.
What is the best gift you have given someone?
The best gift I can give anyone is knowledge; knowledge and tools to build themselves and grow.
What has been going through your mind lately?
I have been worrying about South Africa, praying that the government and people can pick themselves up. I hope people will see the value of Crowd1 and let it flourish in their lives. All that I want is to share my excitement of Crowd1.
You are inviting one of our members over for dinner. What are you serving?
I would definitely serve “stief ” pap. It is a traditional dish. A warm hearty meal.
What does Crowd1 mean to you?
Oh wow, how can you ask me that... I have goosebumps and get very emotional talking about what Crowd1 means to me. Crowd1 means the world to me, it gives me the world in my hands.
