Spotlight: Vinod Kumar

Every month, leaders are stepping up and working harder than ever to educate, recruit, and most of all, inspire. It is because of people like them that make Crowd1 the incredible network that it is. This is a chance to get to know the people behind the success.

What is your background like?

I am from the southern part of India in a city called Chennai, where I live with my wife and son. I came from a middle-class family and worked in sales and marketing selling iPods. I'm a very simple guy but had bigger dreams in my life to achieve success. That's why I decided to take part in this industry.

What have been the biggest challenges?

There was not much support from my family when I said I wanted to take part in network marketing. My family was pushing me to take up a job working morning to 6 o'clock at night – that's all my family is used to doing. Where I live, a lot of scam companies came here and spoiled their name and their city, financially. When I joined Crowd1, I took on this job as a full-time profession where my family's income depended on me. It has been a challenging journey, but luckily my sponsor supported me and guided me through the journey and still guides me every day.

Choose a superpower, and why?

I would really like to have the ability to speak all the languages in the world. That way, I could talk to people and educate them about the company and help them transform their lives.

Who inspires you?

The person who has inspired me the most is Alibaba's CEO Jack Ma. He had incredible dedication, focus and puts in 100%. When I was training, I used to read all about him and listen to his stories of success. From zero, and coming from nowhere, he became a hero. I feel that I can relate to him.

What is the best advice you have received?

The best advice I have received was from my mentor who told me to have one goal at a time. That way, I can give 100% without any distractions. I believe that and I tell my team and family members the same thing.

You are inviting one of our members over for dinner. What are you serving?

It would be a south Indian special called idli dosa.

What does Crowd1 mean to you?

Crowd1 is one of the biggest and most beautiful things that has happened in my life. It has transformed me. It's given me so much joy to see my friends and family happy that they are enjoying their financial freedom. I am thankful.
